Building the scientific and technological cooperation relationship between the Center for Vietnam S&T Internationalization Promotion (VISTIP) and the French Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CCIFV) in Hanoi

On August 16th, 2022 in Hanoi, the Center for Vietnam S&T Internationalization Promotion (VISTIP), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) had a meeting and worked with the Delegation of the French Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CCIFV) at MOST headquarter. The delegation of CCIFV led by Mrs. Sophie MERMAZ. Mrs. Bui Thi Huy Hop – Deputy Director in charge of VISTIP chaired the meeting. The two sides actively discussed about the cooperation activities.

At the meeting, VISTIP leader introduced about Vietnam’s S&T research and development system, as well as VISTIP’s roles, functions and tasks in developing international cooperation and integration on science and technology, especially emphasize the strengths and prioritized cooperation orientation of VISTIP with international organizations such as CCIFV.

The two sides have actively discussed the specific cooperation activities that can be carried out in the near future, especially in the upcoming time CCIFV will arrange a program for VISTIP to work with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to organize some delegations for Vietnamese officials and business leaders to visit and study technology market models, explore opportunities for technology cooperation and innovation in France; jointly promote to link and mobilize resources from stakeholders (domestic and international enterprises, associations,…) on research cooperation activities, organizing events, sharing information and database about technology trading activities of French and Vietnamese partners.

At the meeting, the CCIFV representative expressed her wish that VISTIP would be an important partner and its act as a bridge between CCIFV, French partners and Vietnamese agencies, ministries, branches, localities, businesses and the S&T community in development and cooperation activities.

Besides sharing the CCIFV activities in Vietnam in the past year and CCIFV’s priorities in Vietnam in the coming time, Mrs. Sophie MERMAZ also hopes that the two sides will become each other’s strategic partners in the coming time through the discussion to set up a MoU between the two sides mentioned above.

Regarding the development cooperation activities, the two sides will establish specific cooperation activities. With the functions and tasks assigned by the Minister of Science and Technology, VISTIP’s acts as a bridge between the domestic and international S&T institutions, supporting businesses to apply advanced technologies. VISTIP agreed to work with CCIFV to research and discuss further in order to find out how to effectively implement the orientations and cooperation goals set by the two sides. Mrs. Bui Thi Huy Hop suggested that the two sides will conduct the development of pilot cooperation projects/activities to meet the priority orientations of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and in line with the wishes and capabilities of CCIFV in the near future.

At the meeting, the two sides also agreed to share information and apply innovative ideas in trade connecting, technology markets linking and developing the innovation ecosystem, exchanging ideas to build new specific cooperation activities with the participation of stakeholders, especially businesses and local organizations from the design stage./.
