“Experiencing practical activities at the Center for Vietnam Science and Technology Internationalization Promotion (VISTIP) greatly supports academic orientation, developing skills to integrate into a multicultural learning environment, helping our students have more motivation to become international scientists in the future” this were the feelings of 02 High school students specializing in STEM after completing 8 weeks of practical experience at VISTIP. Two (02) students (Duong Nghiep Hoang – from High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi University of Science of Vietnam National University and Nguyen Thanh Trung from Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) have been received and interned at the working environment of VISTIP for 8 weeks (from November to December 2024). The interns were introduced by the Center to a number of scientific and technological achievements of Vietnam and the world, the basic principles of S & T cooperation and integration activities as well as directly participated in supporting 02 ongoing S & T projects, namely: Pilot Research on Digital Transformation in Management Practices at the Center for Vientam S&T Internationalization Promotion” & “The international experiences on AI applications in S& T international intergration”. In addition to a number of general skills on international integration in the field of science and technology, interns have participated in trial work in a practical research environment, such as: developing research plans, research methods, teamwork skills, search data/ documents for studying purposes, write and present academic topics/ scientific contents, etc. Along with that, the involvement in some contents of the 2 S & T projects related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) technology allowed the interns to experience digital transformation operations and implementation processes with document digitization and administrative management software, internal tasks; to research and evaluate the importance of developing and commercializing applications of AI in the context of international integration. Moreover, the interns have had the opportunity to exchange with the VISTIP’s leaders and personnel who have studied and researched abroad or are in charge of coordinating delegations oversea. This helped the interns to cultivate more knowledge and soft skills such as communication, teamwork and time management. At the end of the experiential internship program, the interns made a report on the results and received positive evaluations and comments from the Center. In particular, some results have been integrated into the general report of the projects. The experiential program has contributed to equipping high school students with some basic research skills and knowledge of science and technology integration, helping interns increase their passion for scientific research and confidently seek research scholarships abroad.
