MOU signing ceremony between the Centre for Vietnam Science and Technology Internationalization Promotion-VISTIP and the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), Australia.

 

On the 21st of May 2015, at the Headquater of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, the MOU signing ceremony between the Centre for Vietnam Science and Technology Internationalization Promotion-VISTIP and the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), Australia was held.

Authorised by the the Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam, VISTIP had hosted the working visit to Vietnam made by the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) from May 19-21, 2015. This visit may be considered as a return visit of the UTS following the recent visit of MOST delegation co- led by Mr. Do Viet Trung- Deputy Director General of MOST Personnel Department and Mr. Bui Quy Long-CEO and Director of VISTIP to the UTS in 2014. This visit of the UTS delegation led by Prof. William Purcell – Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President (International and Advancement). During the visit, the Delegation paid courtesy call on the Vice Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Tran Quoc Khanh.

University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) is a modern university with an international vision. UTS 21 world ranking in the latest QS list of the top 50 universities under 50 years old. UTS also ranked 28th in world top 100 universities with the highest international character of Supplement University Times (Times Higher Education – THE) (2014). UTS of 400 top universities in the academic ranking of world universities (ARWU) 2014 of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and attached to top 250 universities overall in the ranking of world universities. The UTS has strong research in diversity fields such as business, science and research management, commercialization, health, medicine… In this visit to Vietnam, the UTS and VISTIP have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop cooperation on the following key areas: training and exchanging academic and management staff within institutions, enterprises; join research programs in common interest; co-organizing scientific events ( conference, workshop, technology promotion…). The UTS and VISTIP also discussed on a join project for setting up a training center of hi-tech human resource in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park belonging to the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Witnessing the MOU signing ceremony was Vice Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Tran Quoc Khanh, Madam Alison Keys – First Secretary for Trade and Public Diplomacy from The Australian Embassy in Ha Noi together with many high ranking officials from MOST, Government Office and others. Mr. Bui Quy Long- CEO and Director of VISTIP, on behalf of VISTIP and Prof. William Purcell- Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President of the UTS, on behalf of the UTS have signed MOU.
