The Ministry of Science and Technology will support enterprises to develop Blockchain technology

By national projects and programs, the Ministry of Science and Technology will facilitate Vietnamese enterprises to apply Blockchain technology.

The forum “Blockchain – Trends and development vision”, was held on by VnExpress on June 14^th 2018 under the direction of the Ministry of Science and Technology, attracted many experts, speakers and enterprises from diverse fields.

According to Adam Vaziri (General Director of QRC group), Blockchain could be understood as an opened notebook which can distribute information but users can control. “When someone archives information on Google, if Google stops operating someday, all the information and data will disappear. While we can keep archiving information on other machines by using blockchain”, said Adam Vaziri.

With Blockchain, this is the first time ever in the history that human can not change information, so that the security is guaranteed, because they need the consent of thousands of people who using this technology.

Supporting enterprises to apply Blockchain

From potentials of Blockchain, the enterprises have reccommended to build up a legal framework to facilitate them. They expect the Government to be effort to apply this technology on every field as possible, because it brings clarity, transparency and confidence for the people.

According to the Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, the Ministry will cooperate with relevant ministries and agencies to study the roadmap of development in order to promote the application of Blockchain in the socio-economic field.

Through national projects and programs, the Ministry will promote the application of Blockchain such as e-government science and technology program, National program on the 4^th revolution in technology.

The Ministry will prioritize start-up enterprises to implement Blockchain technology through the “Support for Innovative National Innovation to theYear 2025” project.

“The fourth revolution, with core technologies such as AI, Big Data, IoT, Blockchain, is changing the basis of world’s production, to create strong impacts on the socio-economic life as well as to ensure national defense and security, “said Minister Chu Ngoc Anh.

Regarding this issue, Mr. Dam Bach Duong (Director of High Technology Department – Ministry of Science and Technology) shared that the Ministry is implementing the project “Development of digital knowledge system”. This can be seen as a           space for the Bockchain sector to develop in Vietnam.

Representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Justice also said that is and continues to create conditions that help businesses develop application Blockchain.

Blockchain can be applied in most of fields

In the world, many countries like Japan and the United States have applied Blockchain in many fields, even social economy. In Vietnam, although this technology has only been developed by some businesses, international experts believe Vietnam will be a fertile ground of Blockchain, first of all in banking, health and agriculture.

Speaker Adam Vaziri emphasized the importance of Blockchain technology.

In agriculture, Mr. Do Van Long, director of Infinity Blockchain Labs, said that if a mango trading enterprise applies Blockchain, it will help save a lot of costs, but also have additional layers of information management, from planting to harvesting. Users only need a smart phone can check all the data, even the degree of sour mango, should eat or not.

In the medical field, Blockchain will help all the information related to patient’s results to be secured. If the patient needs to switch to a certain hospital in the world, this technology can help to retrieve information.

Mr. Cris D. Tran – Director of QRC Group also led the story of marriage certificate as evidence of the application of Blockchain in life. Normally, when two people in different hometowns want to get married in Ho Chi Minh City, they have to go home to apply for certification of celibacy. But if all personal information is put on Blockchain technology, they can be anywhere but still connect and retrieve information. Marriage registration certificates will also be stored in this technology without worry of being lost.
