Developing S&T cooperation activities between the Center for Vietnam Science and Technology Internationalization Promotion (VISTIP) and Korea SMEs and startups Agency (KOSME)  

At the invitation of the representative of Korea SMEs and startups Agency (KOSME), on the afternoon of June 2nd, 2022, the leader of the Center for Vietnam Science and Technology Internationalization Promotion (VISTIP) came to visit and work at the Korea Business Development Center (KBDC) under KOSME.

At the meeting, the two partners reviewed cooperation activities carried out in previous years. Both VISTIP and KOSME agreed that through the cooperation of the two sides, a large number of organizations/enterprises of both Vietnam and Korea have benefited. Some typical activities such as, in 2014, with the permission of the Leader of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the representative of VISTIP attended the event organized by KOSME in Korea and introduced/consulted to more than 40 Korea’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) about the environment and the incentives of the Vietnamese Government for foreign enterprises with advanced technologies when entering Vietnam to invest/ expect to transfer to Vietnamese organizations. Besides, in 2016, KOSME and VISTIP supported/ welcomed the delegation of leaders and Department of Science and Technology of Quang Binh province to visit and learn about the model of state agencies supporting young businesses/ start-ups.

In an intimate atmosphere, the two sides discussed enthusiastically and agreed on a number of activities to be implemented in 2022. In this year, VISTIP will continue working with KOSME to conduct a consulting program in order to support connection and transfer of science and technology between the SME communities of the two countries. KOSME will continue working with VISTIP to support Vietnamese delegations wishing to visit Korea to learn useful management models/solutions and explore opportunities for cooperation on science and technology. In the coming time, the two sides will continue drafting together more details on cooperation projects related to the above mentioned contents.

In addition, the two sides also spent time discussing cooperation contents within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in March 2014. Mr. Kim Young Ho- Director of KBDC/KOSME said that over the past time due to the change of name and organizational structure as well as many new areas of activity, in the near future, VISTIP will discuss and re-sign the MoU in the direction of expanding the scope and field of cooperation;

At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Bui Thi Huy Hop highly appreciated the cooperation efforts of KBDC/KOSME as well as Mr. Kim Young Ho himself and hoped that the cooperation projects of the two sides in the future would be successful and continued contributing to the development of the innovation, S&T community as well as businesses of the two countries and tightening the friendship between the two countries Vietnam and  Korea.
